Q. Do I need a test even if I am fully vaccinated?
A. Yes, it is mandatory to take a test.

Q. Which is an acceptable test for travelling to India?
A. PCR (Polymerase chain reaction) or Lab test

Q. When should I take the test?
A. 72 hours prior to the departure time of the international leg in your itinerary

Q. Is QR required in the test report?
A. No it is not required.

Q. Where should I upload my results?
A. Upload it in self declaration available in Air Suvidha portal.

Q. Do I need approval from Air Suvidha?
A. No approval is not required. Once an acknowledgment is received, take a print of it and carry it along with your other travel documents.

Q. Should I take a Print of my Negative PCR report?
A. Yes you need to carry prints of your negative PCR report.

Q. Should I file exemption also?
A. No Exemption is to be filed only when there is death in the family.

Q. What should I upload while filing exemption?
A. Death certificate of the deceased needs to be uploaded.

Q. Should I wait for Approval after filing Exemption?
A. Yes you need to wait for approval (average waiting time is 4 hours).

Q. Do I need a PCR report when I file for an exemption?
A. No it is not required for filing exemption.

Q. Do I need a PCR report to travel after filing exemption?
A. No you can travel without PCR report after the exemption is approved.

Tip – Due to Covid situation and delay in approval at times, it is advisable to give a PCR test after filing exemption during waiting time.

Q. Is Quarantine required on reaching India?
A. It is not mandatory but being in self-quarantine is safer for family and friends. 

Q. Is an E-Pass required for Chennai Airport?
A. Yes, it is required. Please find the link to file for E-Pass

Q. Do children require tests for travel?
A. Yes, it is mandatory. Kindly check with your paediatrician for getting the test.
