About The Aadhaar Card

The Aadhaar card was created to give every person living in India a unique identification number. The twelve-digit number is assigned to you by the UIDAI. Every person can have only one Aadhaar card because when you enroll they use fingerprints and retinal scans to ensure that you have only one card. If you are a resident of India you can get an Aadhaar card. The card is also meant for foreigners who are residents of India.

You need to reside in India for 182 days in the previous year you are applying to qualify for the Aadhaar card. If your parents are of Indian origin and Indian Nationals, children can get an Aadhaar card.
